PeepSo App Lite & PeepSo App Plus

How to make your community mobile #

It can be done in just a few minutes:

  • Install and quickly configure one plugin.
  • Members of your community download the app, enter your community’s website address, and get instant access.

The App Lite plugin is a PeepSo plugin for the free Universo app. That plugin is required to connect the PeepSo social network to the Universo app and to customize the look of your community inside the app.

This plugin is available in the Free, Community, and Ultimate bundles.

The Universo mobile app is an app developed by PeepSo. It runs your PeepSo community: from the outside, it looks like a native app, whilst inside it actually contains your website.

You can get the app from the App Store or Google Play. It’s a free app.

Installing and configuring the App Lite plugin #

Install the plugin via PeepSo Installer:

New Plugin settings appear in the WP- Admin menu:

General Settings #

Appearance / Quick Start #

Here you can quickly customize how your community looks in the app in three steps: choose the primary theme (light or dark), the logo, and the primary color to match your website.

Save changes.

At this stage, members of your community can usually start using the Universo app straight away.

Smart Banners #

That additional feature allows you to inform your users about the Universo app and invite them to download (or open)it.

When you enable this option, users who visit your community website on a mobile browser will see an additional bar prompting them to open the Universo app. One tap launches the app, or sends them to the App Store or Google Play to install it first:

Push Notifications #

Push notifications are available with the “App Plus” subscription. To find out more, please go to https://peepso.com/app/

Ads #

Ad removal is available with the “App Plus” subscription. To find out more, please go to https://peepso.com/app/

Advanced Settings #

Compatibility #

If the app fails to connect, check the warnings in the “App compatibility” section:

To override some known blockers, try applying the options below. This never changes the way the regular website works.

  • Bypass REST API lockdown – enable if a security plugin might restrict your WordPress REST API.
  • Bypass full-page caching – enable if aggressive full-page caching interferes with the app.
  • Must-Use plugin – it’s a plugin placed inside the App Lite plugin. Enable to override possibly conflicting settings in third-party plugins and WordPress that are known to break the app.
Getting Started #

When this option is enabled, a new “Getting started” page and a corresponding menu item are added:

Custom CSS #

Here you can create CSS fixes that will only be applied in the app – especially useful if you want to hide the header, footer, sidebars, or adjust the layout.

Navigation Settings #

If you are an “App Plus” subscriber, you can customize the tabs and sidebar in the app.

License Settings #

Here, you enter the license key from your PeepSo “App Plus” purchase and activate the “Plus” features.

Statistics #

In this section, you can view statistics on app usage, broken down by the number of logged-in users, time period, and device type.

You can switch the view from a bar chart to a line chart.

You can also use Actions > Users to open the WP- Admin >Users, and see all app users and the information on when the app was last used.

Additionally, exporting the data is available in Actions > Export CSV.
