New Release: 6.2.6.0

PeepSo 6.2.6.0 is a maintenance release focused on the performance of the background queries. This will improve the overall page loading speed in certain scenarios, such as faster home page loading when you have a lot of images displayed in Community Photos Widget.

Query Improvements

While a page is loading, and depending on the complexity of the page, sometimes hundreds of database queries are triggered in the background. This is how the content displayed on the page communicates with the database and how the page “knows” what to show where. But sometimes these queries can be excessive and unnecessary and can really put a strain on your server resources, resulting in pages loading slower than they actually should.

Database queries are not used solely for this purpose. For example, whenever a user enters a query in the search field, they make a database query as well.

PeepSo version 6.2.6.0 brings a lot of improvements for all search database queries, as well as optimized queries for Community Photos widget. This update is essentially a prelude to a larger update regarding photos, and it’s coming up by the end of this year. More information will be provided in due time, so stay tuned.

What Else Is New?

WooCommerce developers had recently introduced “High-Performance Order Storage” feature – or HPOS. And of course, in traditional fashion of software development, it broke almost every third-party integration, including PeepSo. Our devs have been hard at work to achieve compatibility, therefore PeepSo 6.2.6.0 also brings compatibility patches for the new HPOS feature.
