A fresh new look.

Achievements gives participation a visible reward: a badge to collect, a milestone to remember, and another reason to spend time in your community. In 9.1.0.0, that experience expands beyond the individual profile, with more ways to recognize members and bring their progress into the life of the community.

Put community achievement on display.

The Achievements leaderboard block ranks members by their point totals. Add it to a page to give your community’s contributors a place in the spotlight and make the points people earn easier to discover. It turns individual progress into something the wider community can see.

Celebrate birthdays, loyalty, and time spent exploring.

Birthday achievements let you celebrate members who visit your community on their birthday, using the selected PeepSo profile date field. Membership anniversary achievements recognize how long someone has been part of your community, with durations you choose. A first year, a second year, a fifth year: those are meaningful milestones, and now you can mark them.

The Scroller achievement adds a playful way to reward scrolling through community content. It gives you another option for recognizing members whose participation includes exploring what others have shared, alongside the familiar contributions that earn points and badges.

Bring the celebration into the stream.

Members can share earned achievements as activity stream posts. A personal milestone can become a community moment: something other members can notice, react to, and celebrate together. Sharing is a member action, giving people the choice to bring their achievement into the conversation.

This release also refines Achievements styling in the member experience and administration screens, introduces a clearer two-line notification layout, improves translation handling, and addresses a MariaDB issue that could prevent achievement records from loading in the editor. The additions come with practical polish for the people earning achievements and the administrators creating them.

Your members spend a lot of their time reading posts, replying, and reacting. PeepSo 9.1.0.0 gives that everyday experience a substantial design pass, with changes that make discussions easier to scan and the controls around them more consistent.

Comments with a clearer structure.

Comments now have a distinct header, content area, and action bar. The avatar has its own column, with the conversation beside it. Author information, timestamps, and moderation indicators have clearer positions, and replies use more consistent indentation. The result is a more organized thread, especially when several people are talking at once.

Comment menus also receive attention, including a Copy link option that works on phones and a fix for menus being overlapped by the next comment’s button. Narrow stream layouts get a more resilient post footer, so controls have room to work when a sidebar, smaller screen, or embedded view reduces the available width.

Reactions that tell you more with less clutter.

Reaction summaries move to plain counts, with compact formatting for larger totals. The preview shows up to the five most popular reaction types, and the comment reaction summary sits alongside the Like control. Post and comment summaries receive a more consistent presentation.

Open a reaction breakdown and you get a centered modal with a fixed title and close controls, plus one scrolling list. It works across posts, comments, and replies. Names load when a reaction row is expanded, reducing the amount of detail the initial view has to prepare.

Comment totals include replies and refresh when comments are added or deleted. Repost controls use their count, timestamps become more compact, and Show more provides a consistent label for loading additional content. Together, these changes make the stream feel more coherent.

Embeds and polls get their share of the polish.

The first phase of the activity stream embed redesign brings WordPress and PeepSo embeds into a more consistent visual presentation. Block Theme embed styling receives attention too, while polls get improvements for the mobile view. Content shared into the community should feel at home in the conversation around it.

Keeping a community welcoming takes attention, and the tools available to moderators matter. This release adds an AI Moderator in Early Access beta and extends the work around sensitive content, giving administrators more options for how their community handles material that needs review.

Choose how automated moderation responds.

AI Moderator checks new and edited supported content through background maintenance. Administrators configure thresholds for marking content sensitive, creating reports, and unpublishing content, with optional administrator email notifications. It adds another way to identify content that deserves attention and route it into your moderation process.

Supported content includes post and comment text, poll answers, and photos, with support for selected video material, stories, and reposts. Photo moderation is part of this release’s expansion. The feature does not scan your existing content history by default; it also does not cover private messages, uploaded files, or profile, Group, or Page details.

Sensitive markings that follow the content.

The new web post composer gains a Sensitive content toggle, letting authors mark a post before publishing it. Sensitive photo handling expands across albums, album cover tiles, widgets, blocks, shortcodes, and relevant media tiles. Shared sensitive posts also retain their blur treatment, and photo lightbox handling receives fixes.

There is a clearer distinction between a member’s own sensitive marking and one applied by an administrator or automated moderation. Members cannot remove an administrator, AI, or inherited sensitive marking. Where applicable, the menu explains who applied the mark or indicates that it was applied automatically.

Moderation settings saving and automatic unpublishing behavior also receive fixes. These changes give administrators more consistent controls as they decide what belongs in their community and how members encounter it.

A community should look like it belongs to the people building it. The design work included in 9.1.0.0 gives site owners more control over their theme, branding, and default imagery, with practical improvements for both the editor and the finished site.

Create, keep, and reuse your Block Theme presets.

Custom presets let you save the design choices you want to return to. Save a colors-only preset or a fuller set of settings that includes fonts, shadows, and layout choices. You can overwrite or delete custom presets, and export or import them as JSON to carry the design between sites.

A Styles sidebar shortcut, an unsaved-change notice, and live preview improvements make the workflow easier to follow. Dark-mode changes can be previewed without reloading the editor, and blue and purple color presets provide additional starting points.

A logo block with more flexibility.

The Custom Logo block renders an image with alternative text from the WordPress Media Library, preserves its natural proportions, and lets you choose its width and optional home link. Desktop and mobile variants, alongside light- and dark-mode options, let your branding fit the context in which members see it.

Compatibility work also helps plugins that use classic header and footer templates work with the Block Theme. Styling conflicts involving Dokan and MasterStudy receive fixes, and dark-mode contrast improvements make affected elements easier to read.

Choose default avatars and covers from administration.

The PeepSo configuration screens now include default avatars and cover images for Groups and Pages, alongside the member defaults. Give a new Group or Page a look that belongs to your site before its owner uploads a custom image. Members’ default imagery can also follow the available profile choices.

Existing custom uploads continue to take priority. If generated name-based avatars are enabled, those remain the member avatar choice. It is a useful way to carry your community’s identity into the places that previously relied on built-in images or server-side overrides.

The new My Groups block and classic widget give members a convenient way back to the Groups they belong to. Each entry can show the Group’s image and name, the member’s role, and the member count when enabled, with an optional link to view all their Groups.

Choose the title, the number of Groups displayed, whether to show the View all link, and whether to hide an empty listing. The listing belongs to the logged-in member, making it useful on a community page or in a sidebar where people need a familiar route back into their conversations.

Administrators also gain settings to hide Group member counts and Page follower counts. Backend management listings for Groups and Pages are improved, and joining terminology becomes more consistent. Approved Group members receive the same clear joining language as other members, while a join notification issue involving members hidden from user listings is addressed.

A Page speaks as one Page.

Page identity receives an extensive pass across posts, comments, reactions, and notifications. Only Page Owners and Managers act as the Page. Moderators retain their moderation role without publishing, commenting, or reacting as that identity.

Owners and Managers share one Page reaction identity, so a Page behaves like a single participant. Attribution is corrected across reaction names, notification links, and email digests, helping members recognize which Page is speaking. Mention suggestions also receive privacy fixes so they do not reveal the member behind a Page contribution.

Pages with assigned blog posts gain a Posts tab to display that content. Combined with clearer identity handling and better management tools, these changes make Pages more useful for the organizations, projects, and voices represented in your community.

PeepSo communities often sit alongside shops, memberships, blogs, and classifieds. This release gives those connections substantial attention, addressing the practical issues that appear when several parts of a WordPress site need to work together.

• Commerce profile navigation: EDD, WooCommerce, and Awecommerce get a more consistent configuration approach for main tab visibility, labels, and slugs, with sub-tab ordering and visibility controls where available. Distinct labels help members tell different purchase areas apart. See the update notes before changing WooCommerce Orders or Cart slugs.
• EDD and Awecommerce together: fixes address conflicting profile templates so the EDD area can load alongside the Awecommerce integration.
• WooCommerce: stream and order-confirmation handling is improved when a referenced product or variation no longer exists. Order activity cleanup also receives a fix for High-Performance Order Storage.
• Dokan: new-product activity works with instant publishing, and integration hooks handle situations where Dokan is unavailable more safely.
• WPAdverts: work addresses the block-rendered experience, integration styling and messaging controls, along with an error in the classifieds profile tab.
• Paid Memberships Pro: membership-related VIP icons are handled without wiping manually assigned icons, and membership icons can be removed when the membership changes.
• Blog integration: fixes address missing activity for non-administrator publishing, readable link-preview descriptions, and featured images in shared blog activity previews.

These are the connections that turn a community into part of a broader site. Reliable profile tabs, accurate activity, and sensible previews help members move between that site’s content, commerce, and conversations.

Some of the most valuable work in 9.1.0.0 happens behind a familiar screen. This release addresses privacy, permissions, routing, caching, and background work across the PeepSo experience. That investment deserves a place alongside the visible features.

More consistent anonymous and Page identities.

Anonymous posting receives fixes across mention suggestions, reaction displays, email notifications and digests, photo information, and mobile API responses. Turning anonymous posting off should not reveal the author of an existing anonymous contribution in the affected notifications or stream header. Blocking behavior also receives fixes for anonymous Group posts and post edits.

New post and comment links use short opaque tokens rather than embedding author identifiers. The routing work also addresses same-second collisions for newly created content, empty slugs, comment notification links, and single-post views when the activity page is the site’s front page. Existing links retain their format and remain supported.

Page publishing permissions and chat conversation permission checks are strengthened. Password changes receive more consistent session sign-out and notification handling, and Community Admin privileges are removed when an account changes from administrator to a non-administrator role.

Reduce repeated work as communities grow.

High-traffic work targets repeated calculations and unnecessary database activity. Mutual-friend counts use a more direct count calculation and shared caching. Mention suggestions avoid rebuilding every friend individually. Reaction breakdowns prepare counts first and defer member names until a reaction row is opened.

The release also fixes user-cache data accumulating nested copies across requests, removes unnecessary database writes when avatars render, and avoids repeating route queries through the URL-segment helper. Ordinary anonymous pages outside the PeepSo experience can regain full-page cache eligibility by avoiding unnecessary session and referrer-cookie behavior.

Email and reporting work is better separated from the response a member is waiting for. Fixes address report submissions repeatedly draining the mail queue, immediate email sending inside the response, and invalid digest recipients. Theme license checks and update checks also receive changes to reduce unnecessary remote calls.

A more dependable update path.

PeepSo Core’s update handling from the WordPress Plugins screen is corrected, and add-on updater registration receives fixes for scheduled automatic updates. Release work also checks that updates are offered and installed across PeepSo plugins and themes. Maintaining your community should be part of a dependable routine.

PeepSo App and App Lite receive work to bring affected community features into line with the site settings. In App Lite, post sharing, reposting, profile sharing, post view counts, and profile likes follow your configuration instead of being forced off.

App Lite sharing can open the native share sheet. In-app sharing also gets a compact Share… / Repost menu when both choices are available. Shared configuration handling brings more consistency across the app integrations, while upload warnings become clearer across the post composer and are shown in the app.

Privacy fixes extend to mobile notifications and popular-photo responses, and timestamps use relative dates in the apps. Your members get a more consistent experience as they move between your website and the mobile community.

The headline features are only part of this release. The milestone also covers a broad set of corrections to the everyday experience:

• Registration: age validation on Date profile fields, excessive validation requests while typing, and clearer messages when a registration email domain is blocked.
• Profiles and avatars: non-square avatar display, unwanted activity posts when an existing image is cropped, and privacy handling for avatar and cover activity.
• Streams and discussions: Top / All time filtering, incorrect pinned indicators, missing comments on profile-stream posts, and problems submitting background posts.
• Notifications and digests: first-name tokens in Group post emails, comment notification destinations, Page attribution, and Page content appearing in digests without an explicit follow.
• Administration: inaccurate report counts caused by orphaned records, settings that lost a zero default, and moderation configuration saving.
• Localization and compatibility: translatable emoji search keywords, more consistent time abbreviations, and fixes for PHP warnings and poll-related errors.

The work goes even deeper, with updates to dependencies, builds, update verification, and deactivation feedback. More than 150 tickets means attention across the whole release: the additions people notice first, the annoyances they will no longer encounter, and the maintenance work that supports both.

Update PeepSo Core, your installed PeepSo add-ons, and your PeepSo theme together. Use your usual backup and staging process, then check the parts of the site your members use most: registration, posting, profiles, Groups, Pages, media, and any connected shop or membership tools.

Achievements remains available with an active PeepSo Ultimate Bundle license. AI Moderator is an optional Early Access feature with its own setup requirements; review its settings and OpenAI account usage before enabling it.
