If you haven’t realized it already, the recent events surrounding the COVID-19 coronavirus really should convince you that we do all live in a global village where events on the opposite side of the globe can affect us in a very real way.
Many countries have either already closed their borders and restricted movement or are planning to do so in the next days or weeks. We’re all advised to stay at home to protect ourselves, our loved ones and others. Avoiding direct contact with people doesn’t necessarily mean avoiding people, though.
“Social distancing is a set of nonpharmaceutical infection control actions intended to stop or slow down the spread of a contagious disease. The objective of social distancing is to reduce the probability of contact between persons carrying an infection, and others who are not infected, so as to minimize disease transmission, morbidity and ultimately, mortality.”

Social distancing – yes. Keeping in touch – also yes. Amazing times we live in, don’t we? Communication over long distances has never been easier. We feel that it’s our responsibility to make sure that this message gets out to all of you. With this we hope to inspire you to send a similar message to all of your communities’ members. Remind everyone to stay safe. To stay at home. Remind them also that they’re not alone.
Here at PeepSo we do have the privilege to work from the safety of our homes. Many companies have decided to allow people to telecommute – which is a fantastic initiative on their part. If you have a company and have the option to allow your employees to work remotely, please do consider it. If you work for a company where this could be an option, raise that question with your superiors.
What we feel should also be considered is trying to avoid adding to the panic and trying to avoid all fake news that have been sprouting out there on social media. Follow your countries’ official recommendations. If you’re not feeling well, do seek help. Once again, stay safe.
