New Release: 5.2.4.0

This compatibility release is focused on adequate WordPress 6.1 support on comment-heavy websites, alongside some visual and functionality improvements in the upcoming File Uploads plugin.

WordPress 6.1

WordPress 6.1 is currently in RC stage (Release Candidate) and it is not recommended for production, or the live site. However, that doesn’t stop us to provide full compatibility for the official version that will be available on November 1st 2022, making your transition to the latest version of WordPress as smooth as possible.

Other Fixes

We’ve fixed the issue with uploading animated GIF images which were not animated in the preview box before posting, added new warning in the Site Health screen if PeepSo folders do not have write permissions on server, and we’ve also taken care of some incompatibilities with third-party plugins such as BadgeOS and Widget Options.

File Uploads

File Uploads plugin is leaving the Alpha stage and going Beta, which is another step to stable release.
In this version, you’ll be able to upload files within chat conversations as well as in comments on PeepSo posts.

What is next for File Uploads?

Because this is the Beta 1 release of File Uploads, it is still not recommended to be used on live sites. Our developers are working hard to provide more functionality, the most important being tight integration with User Limits plugin, which will allow site admins to determine which user roles will be able to upload files.

After this implementation, we’ll focus all of our attention on visual polish and making sure that all validation features are respected. Meanwhile, we are open for any suggestions you might have and they will be considered after the stable release.
