New Release: PeepSo 5.0.1.1

Small release of PeepSo Foundation only, focused on greater administrative control of post auto-following.

This release only ships PeepSo Foundation

There are no updates to Gecko or other PeepSo plugins – only the PeepSo foundation. This version of PeepSo Foundation is only compatible with the 5.0.1.0 version of PeepSo plugins and Gecko theme.

Admin control over auto-following posts

Based on feedback from our customers, we decided to give greater control over auto-following posts to the site administrators.

There are new settings in Admin > PeepSo > Configuration > Notifications that allow you control whether a post should be auto-followed by non-author when one of these actions is performed: reaction, comment, post save.

In previous versions of PeepSo the posts would always be auto-followed if user left a reaction or a comment and this was their first interaction with the post.

Starting with 5.0.1.1 auto-follow is also available upon post save and the admin can now define which actions (if any at all) are to trigger the auto-follow.

The same configuration area now lets you decide whether the post followers should be notified about new reactions.

Neither of the new settings applies to post owners, as they auto-follow their own posts (until unfollowed manually) and have a separate profile preference to control notifications about reactions.
