New Release: PeepSo 2.7.1 and Gecko 2.7.1.0

Welcome back after the holiday break. It’s all new year. It’s a brand new release. Happy belated New Year! ๐Ÿ™‚

PeepSo 2.7.1 is a purely maintenance release, shipping multiple improvements and fixes. The notable ones are the improvements to Social Sharing feature where you do get nicer pop-ups interface and cleaner Open Graph tags that will improve your community’s experience along the way.

The other ones are improved Cyrillic hashtags, we heard you and got your back. Searching for users with multiple, identical or similar names has been made easier too. The overall design work was improved in a few hot spots that either were noticed by us or reported by you.

There are about twenty different things listed in the changelog. Feel free to look into it for the details of this release.

On the Gecko Theme front we’re shipping just a couple of fixes to the existing code base. As some of you already know we’re working on something big in the background. If you haven’t read or seen our development preview of the upcoming customizer, please do read this post. It contains as much detail as we’re able to give at this time.

I’m a Digital Nomad currently living in Manila, The Philippines. Co-Founder and CEO of PeepSo.com. First time WordCamp Speaker at WordCamp Kuala Lumpur 2017, WordCamp Singapore 2019 and hoping to speak more soon. I started my journey with open source nearly a decade ago as a simple support guy. Joomla! was my first encounter with the world of Open Source. After that period of my life got phased out I fell in love with WordPress and never left. I have been both lucky and at the same time I worked my ass off to get to where I am right now. Free time, if I have any, is usually spent with my wife and / or travel around South-East Asia. Even when I’m supposed to be on a little vacation, not a day goes by when I don’t check up on PeepSo. So far visited or lived in: Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Hungary, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, China, Japan, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Norway, Germany, Scotland, England and more… Whenever possible, I jump on my Ducati Monster and just ride.
