Another release, let me tell you we are on a roll here. We’re trying to stick to a release every 2 weeks or so and so far on average we are nailing this first half a year. It’s a smaller release counting the number of things on the changelog. Still it’s a very powerful one when it comes to improvements and fixes introduced.
Upgrades
For a quick and hassle-free upgrade:
- Go to the backend of your site > Dashboard > Updates (go here, instead of > Dashboard > Plugins, trust me)
- Select all PeepSo plugins that need to be updated
- Click โUpdate Pluginsโ (note: this will deactivate all of the add-on plugins), don’t worry, they’ll come right back on during Step 6 promise!
- Update PeepSo Core
- Go to the backend > Plugins
- Reactivate all PeepSo plugins
The whole operation doesnโt take more than 3 minutes. Should you have any issues or questions, please doย contact us.ย ALSO IMPORTANT. We release all plugins at the same time. Sometimes, it can take some time for all available updates to show in the backend of your site. If some pluginsโ updates donโt show, wait. Just Wait. Donโt upgrade just some of them. Drink some coffee and wait. Your site needs to catch up to show them all. If you feel like itโs taking too long, contact us. Weโre here to help!
What’s new?
The smart timing was introduced to the single message view in Chat. Previously it was hardcoded to fire up every 1s. Right now it’s following the smart timing settings in the backend and with that in mind you have now full control over Chat performance in every scenario. It’s definitely something that will help with keeping your community fast.
With this release we’ve also improved our integrations with PMP, WooCommerce and WPAdverts plugins. We made sure that PeepSo works when some pages containing PeepSo shortcodes are configured as child pages. With PeepSo itself we also made sureย the post-toolbar action fires above PeepSo content when toolbar is disabled – that one in particular might sound very complicated and vague but it covers the scenario where you’re using User Limits to enforce profile completion and the information what the user needs to do doesn’t show with hidden toolbar. Not anymore. We got that fixed. You can see the full changelog here.
In the background we’re finally putting finishing touches on video uploads. Yes. I know. It’s long overdue but we can only do so much at once. This week, we’ll be done with development and next one we’ll be testing it. A LOT.
