Mobile App Policy

PeepSo, Inc. is dedicated to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all users of mobile apps developed using the PeepSo plugin as a base. This policy outlines the rules and expectations for behavior and content within these mobile apps. By using a PeepSo-based mobile app, you agree to comply with the following guidelines. This is an extension with possible overlap with rules of Apple App Store as well as Google Play Store.

1. Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly forbidden on any PeepSo-based mobile app:

  • Illegal Activities: Any activity that violates local, national, or international laws, including but not limited to drug trafficking, human trafficking, and organized crime.
  • Gambling: Offering, promoting, or facilitating any form of gambling, including online casinos, sports betting, lotteries, or any wagering activities.
  • Prostitution and Escort Services: Offering, promoting, or facilitating prostitution, escort services, or any other form of sex work.
  • Human Exploitation: Engaging in, promoting, or facilitating any form of human exploitation, including child exploitation or human trafficking.
  • Violence and Weapons: Promoting, depicting, or facilitating violence or the sale of weapons, including firearms, explosives, or other dangerous objects.
  • Hate Speech and Discrimination: Any content or activity that promotes hate speech, racism, bigotry, or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or any other characteristic.
  • Fraud and Deception: Engaging in fraudulent activities, including phishing, scamming, impersonation, or other deceptive practices designed to harm or steal from others.
  • Intellectual Property Violations: Posting or distributing content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others, including copyrights, trademarks, or patents, without proper authorization.
  • Malware and Hacking: Distributing malware, viruses, or engaging in hacking or other activities that compromise the security of the app or its users.
  • Spam: Engaging in spamming, including sending unsolicited messages, advertisements, or promotional content.

2. Content Guidelines

Content shared within PeepSo-based mobile apps must adhere to the following guidelines:

  • No Explicit Content: Sharing pornographic, obscene, or sexually explicit content is strictly prohibited.
  • No Graphic Violence: Content that depicts graphic violence, gore, or other disturbing imagery is not allowed.
  • No Misinformation: Spreading false or misleading information, particularly on critical issues such as health, safety, or elections, is prohibited.
  • Respect for Privacy: Do not share personal information, such as addresses, phone numbers, or private communications, without the consent of the individuals involved.

3. Privacy and Data Protection

  • User Privacy: User privacy is of utmost importance. Personal data must be handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws and regulations. Users’ personal information should not be shared with third parties without explicit consent.
  • Account Deletion: Users have the right to delete their accounts and all associated data at any time. The app must provide an easy and accessible way for users to remove their accounts and data permanently.
  • Requiring a login to use the app is not allowed: According to the store policies, all social networking apps must allow at least a limited amount of guest browsing. That means we cannot have a guest redirect or login requirement inside the app. User should be able to see at least the public posts, blog or any other republic facing content.

4. Enforcement and Reporting

PeepSo, Inc. reserves the right to take appropriate action against any user or content that violates this policy. This may include:

  • App Removal: Removing the app that violates the policy.
  • Peepso, Inc. Account Suspension or Termination: Suspending or terminating accounts of users who engage in prohibited activities or violate the content guidelines.
  • Reporting: Users are encouraged to report any violations of this policy. Reports will be reviewed, and appropriate action will be taken.

5. App Maintenance & Changes

  • Changing colors or app elements after the app is released: Most of the changes you do on your websites will be automatically inherited by the app, as itโ€™s a web wrapper.
    Some changes will require us to build and release a new app version. That applies especially to the header, sidebar, and bottom tab navigation layout / colors / images. It also applies if you wish to change the app icon, splash screen, or even App Store description or screenshots.
    Each subscription comes with 2 app builds per month – one for Android, one for Apple. This includes App Store submission for the Apple build. For Android, we’ll provide you with an updated APK app file.
  • Maintenance, updates and compatibility: For the duration of your subscription we will make sure the app works and looks great after you update WordPress, themes and plugins. We will also test it against and maintain compatibility with the latest versions of iOS and Android.
    Each subscription comes with 4 hours of development time per month, which will be dedicated to the maintenance of the app.

6. Important limitations and requirements

Please read these terms carefully, as they might impact your app review and result in the app being rejected for not complying with store policies.

  • Social Login: If your app has any form of social login (with Google, Facebook, etc) you are required to also have Login With Apple in your app.
  • E-commerce restrictions: Any sort of digital goods sales must go through in-app-purchases (IAP). Our current app does not offer IAPs, so if your website has any sort of digital goods sales, we would need to surgically hide it from the application context.
    Users are still allowed to use the app โ€œconsumeโ€ digital content purchased on your website. But the app cannot have a shop, checkout or even a link or information about where things can be bought.
  • Language support: Currently the app can only be released in one language of your choice. However, since most of the app is loaded directly from your website, if you implement multiple languages in your website, it wonโ€™t be a major problem.
  • Light / dark mode: At the moment we have to settle with a single color palette when designing your app. We will however look into the ability to switch between dark and light mode in the future.

7. Amendments

PeepSo, Inc. may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in laws and regulations. Users will be notified of any significant changes, and continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

By using a PeepSo Mobile App Building Service, you agree to abide by this policy. Failure to comply may result in the suspension or termination of your account and access to the app.
