We are pleased to announce the immediate availability of PeepSo 1.8.0. Due to some internal changes that many of you have already read about we were forced to reorganize ourselves a bit more before jumping fully back into development. Please make sure to read this blogpost carefully and follow the upgrade procedure.
3-Way Merger
This is one of the most exciting news. MattsPlugins.com and 97BOLD plugins have been taken over by PeepSo due to recent management changes. The following:
- VIP
- BadgeOS Integration
- Reactions
- AutoFriends
- WordFilter
- BlogPosts
- User Limits (slightly renamed)
These are no longer 3rd party plugins. They have been adapted to be a part of the official PeepSo offer. Which means that they are also officially supported by us. There’s no longer any need to go to a different site or a dedicated group. If you have any issues, just open a ticket and we’ll help!
Licensing and Version Lock
To make sure that all of the plugins always work together great and that there are no conflicts they are put in a version lock. Having that said, since PeepSo plugins are now in the 1.8.0 version and all of the plugins must be of the same version to work properly. Mismatch in versions will result in plugins automatic deactivation, again to ensure that nothing breaks on your site.
myCRED Integration Licensing
The plugin has had licensing added to it. Having that said, you can grab your license from: https://PeepSo.com/my-account/ from the ‘My Licenses’ tab. Make sure to also add a supported domain. When this is done, the plugin will also get automatic updates and upgrades like all others.
Upgrade Instructions
Upgrades can be performed in two ways. The automatic upgrade system lets you click a button on each plugin to upgrade to the latest available version. Alternatively, you can go to https://PeepSo.com/my-account/ and download the latest versions manually. Deactivate and delete the old plugins, upload, and activate new plugins.
For the automatic upgrades to work flawlessly make sure that you upgrade all the child plugins first and upgrade PeepSo Core last. You might need to reactivate the plugins too, once PeepSo Core is upgraded. Do NOT upgrade PeepSo Core until all official child plugins are at version 1.8.0.
Updates For All Former MattsPlugins and 97BOLD Plugins
These plugins need to be manually upgraded, and this will be the only case when they have to be upgraded like this. To do it, simply go to: https://PeepSo.com/my-account/ and download the latest versions.
Then go to the backend of your WP site > Plugins. Select: BlogPosts, Reactions, Limit Users, AutoFriends, WordFilter, BadgeOS Integration and VIP plugins. Deactivate them. Delete them. Then click on ‘Add New’ > ‘Upload Plugin’ and select each plugins’ zip file. Install them one by one and activate. Done!
If you want we can do it for you! Make sure you have a backup of your site (always a good practice), open a support ticket and we’ll get those plugins upgraded on your site!
Other Improvements And Bug Fixes
We’ve made a number of fixes and improvements in this version. There are some significant Avatar upload UI/UX improvements, removed duplicate queries for: PeepSoUrlSegments – which will help performance! You can see the full changelog here.
